These “fuzzies” we found attached to overhead cables reminded us of the dust bunnies “makurukuroske” in Hayao Miyazaki’s film, My neighbor Totoro.

We were told that these are parasites that mistake these cables for “hosts”.

We think the Shakira video tired them out!

Sunday lunch with Sopa de legumbres, Ahi con chochos, Pulao, Aloo palak, Poppadums, Raita Lebanese and Coctel de coca (traditional drink of Esmeraldas).
Chalito, Mario, Chiito, Wendy, Joanne and Sandhya

We stopped for some tea and empanadas con queso, Bolognese de verde and empanadas con carne. Mui delicioso!

The generosity of Joanne and her family knows no bounds. Words cannot express how “at home” we felt in their midst. Language was no barrier as we connected at a deeper level. We left with heavy hearts knowing that we will return. Many thanks and much love to the Calderon family for their wonderful hospitality. “Mi casa su casa” in India or where ever we settle next!
